Pemberley state of mind

“I wanted to push the emotional core and concentrate on Elizabeth Bennet. I wanted to be her story all the way through the film. She keeps her secrets as a burden. She didn´t tell anybody anything.  It´s very much her story and her secrets. Things she can´t confide to her parents, her friend Charlotte or even her darling sister, Jane. And as she keeps all this to herself we feel for her more and more. I thought that this isn´t just a frothy or social comedy, it´s actually about turmoil and pain and out of real turmoil comes comedy.”
