“Rosings, we just wanted something old, and rich, and deep. It´s very old money, Rosings, like Lady Catherine. It´s an incredibly beautiful place but it´s quite oppresive as well. There´s nothing light or airy about it. It´s quite heavy, dark, deep colours. And it suited Lady Catherine in that sense. All the people who are the butlers and footmen are all resident staff here. I think it´s a little bit strange that Lady Catherine is surrounded by naked bodies.”(Joe Wright, Director)
