“Jane Austen always got much better with her father than her mother, just like Elizabeth Bennet. Her mother was a hypochondriac, like Mrs. Bennet and wasted a lot of money in Bath on quack doctors for imaginary illnesses.”
Sorry but what do you mean?
My cousin and I are planning our 50th Birthday for 2014 and decided since we both adore P&P, we’re going to attend the Jane Austin festival in Bath England! We’re also wanting to see the film sites for P&P (with Kira Knightly). Do you know the major places the movie was filmed so we’re sure not to miss anything?
We’re planning to make our own costumes for the festival as well! :)
Oh you´re so lucky, that´s one of my dearest dreams. Take a look at this post, hope it helps. Have a wonderful trip and enjoy the experience :)!
Thank you so much for this peace of Art!! I love the book and this version of the movie too, And just this morning I woke up and thought, maybe I should watch it again, and then I found on facebook your link. I came here and was enchanted with this blog for hours! That wasn’t my plan for today.
I really love how you put the pictures and litle sequences from the movie to bring out the emotions, feelings etc. Seeing the movie here in little pieces the beauty of it becomes even more revealed.
It might be good to mention how many pages your blog has. I was always pressing next, thinking it must end sometime and stopped at 117- after hours of delight.- its really addictive- But I figured also out that it has at the moment 167!
Great job. Enjoyed every bit of it!!
Sunny greetings from Seoul, Korea
Aruna.
Awww a million THANKS Aruna :) I feel so overwhelmed reading your message, knowing that you took your time to take a look at my older posts, really means a lot.
Thank you very much :) It´s not a work it´s a real pleasure.
Thank you sooo much :) ! Feelings are the same now and then but circumstances were so different, especially for women. That´s why Jane Austen is so wonderful and her books are timeless classics.
Has mathew mcfayden made any other movies?
Of course :)! He has a longtime solid career. Take a look at his filmography.
What is the Bennet family drinking at breakfast the morning Mr. Collins proposes? It looks like tea.
I think so but I could not tell you for sure. Thanks for asking Lisa :)!

“Perod costumes? It wasn´t the first time. It´s part of being an actor dressing up. The costumes were made exactly as they were at that time. They were great, make you walk and move in the right way.”
(Matthew Macfadyen)
“The cast went down there and spent a few days playing sardines, and just mucking about in the house so that they could claim it as there own house. They each had their own bedroom and a space of their own. Tom Hollander (Mr. Collins) also played sardines and claimed that when he was in a cupboard with the five Bennet sisters it was the happiest day of his life.”
